Welcome to the village.

I've spent years in the camp world—as a camper, counselor, and camp director.

Yet as I prepared to send my daughter to sleepaway camp for the first time, I found myself constantly wanting to call her camp director.

Not because anything was wrong. Just because I had questions. Concerns. "What ifs."

I kept stopping myself because I didn't want to be that parent.

When I finally admitted this to her camp director, she said something I'll never forget:

"If you're not advocating for your child, then who is?"

In that moment, I realized something.

This is hard.

Sending your baby away for the first time is hard. The excitement and pride can exist right alongside the worry and uncertainty.

And while we probably shouldn't call the camp director every day 😉, we all deserve a place to ask questions, share concerns, and support one another.

So I created this community.

Welcome to the village every camp parent deserves. 💚
